Read this again and I still love it. My favorite stories are 'Twas the Night Before Solstice and A Christmas Carol.

Since I hate Christmas, I thought it would be nice to read these stories and see what the author has done to some popular yet overdone traditional Christmas tales. It was interesting, except for the fact that this book felt as if there were much fewer stories in it overall, since A Christmas Carol took up over half of the book.

No matter how much Christmas is a ripe subject to parody and criticize, Garner still doesn't get off without poking fun at his own characters when his Santa Claus tells the PC family to "Get over yourselves!"

A true tribute to the insanity that we call P.C. I hate that we have gone this far and continue to change the classics to meet our current version of "polite society". This book made me laugh at the same time it caused me to think about how P.C. I really want to let my life become.

Like the other politically correct stories compilation, I enjoyed this one. I'm more partial to the fairy tales though. I liked the retelling of the Christmas Carol but my favorite story of the bunch would have to [be] The Nutcracker. Maybe because I too wonder why it is always the heroine that leaves her world/gives up everything. Read this one for laughs and some re-education :P

It's a funny concept.  Maybe I would have liked it better if I read it over the course of a month rather than a couple of days.  It's funny but gets boring fast.  It is a little like a knock-knock joke.  One or two is funny.  A whole stand-up routine of knock-knock jokes, not so much.

It's July 1st and I decided to do a tiny bit of cleaning today. I found this book, which had been given to me for Christmas, and decided I might as well read it. There were a few humorous lines from this little book, but I found myself rushing simply to get it over with. Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid.

Laugh out loud funny. Garner takes Dickens Christmas Carol and creates a politically correct version for the modern reader. If you don't laugh at this book, no don't have a sense of humor.
