What a great idea for a book this was! Jumping through alternate universes proves to be a really fun narrative, as well as keeping you on the edge of your seat. Is this the real character or another version of this character? These are the questions that kept going through my head. I can't wait to see what happens later on with Triad.

I put off reading this book so long that I kinda started to feel sorry for it. And all that was just because I've heard friends say it was difficult to start up, which was exactly what happened with me.. But at some point, in Russia.. I fell in love with Meg and Paul and Theo. I loved the way Marguerite loved her father, the way she comitted to the different Marguerites. Me gusta!
I can't wait for the second book, but I understand most of the people that didn't like this one.

Along with the book cover-which is AMAZING- I think it has a good story line; with it set in the future about dimension traveling, which I think is smart and original.

I would recommend this to everyone who is interested in;
~science-fiction
~love stories/ love triangles
~books based in the future.

I'm not giving it 5 stars, even though my reviews positive, because I get confused on what the main character is talking about, like one minute she is talking about her family the next she is kissing Paul!

So a little confused.

But over all its a great book.

Very excited for the third book! (Already read the 2nd)

One-Sentence Summary: Marguerite’s dad is dead and she’ll stop at nothing to avenge his death, including traveling to other dimensions to kill the man responsible, a man she thought she could’ve loved.

Time/Setting: December in California; this is not a time-travel book, but a dimension-travel book. Like I ever knew there was a difference…

Review: Like I mentioned above, this is not a book about time travel, it’s about dimension travel. I normally have trouble reading sci-fi books that talk about different possibilities, where through time or space; however, with this book, it wasn’t perplexing. It gave me just enough info so that I knew what was going on, but not too much as to completely lose me. One of the things that I didn’t think I would like about this book was the love triangle. I am SO tired of Young Adult books that carry this theme—I’m over it, authors! But in this one, I like to think that the choice was made pretty early on in the books, and for good reasons. I hope that this consistency with the love remains throughout the series. I really enjoyed this book, and I look forward to the next one.

Favorite Character: Marguerite, with her impulse self.

Least Favorite Character: Don’t have one just yet. The main antagonist in this one hasn’t really shown his true colors, and I don’t know how I feel about Theo just yet.

Favorite Quote: Words from a smart girl: “I meant it when I said I didn’t believe in love at first sight. It takes time to really, truly fall for someone. Yet I believe in a moment. A moment when you glimpse the truth within someone, and they glimpse the truth within you. In that moment, you don’t belong to yourself any longer, not completely. Part of you belongs to him; part of him belongs to you. After that, you can’t take it back, no matter how much you want to, no matter how hard you try.”

Recommend? Yes.

Re-read? Yes.

How This Book Ended (A refresher for those that need it):
SpoilerMarguerite basically runs off with Theo because she believes Paul killed her father. She ends up in a world where her whole family is dead and she lives in London with her aunt, and from there she jumps to a world where she is royalty and her dad, though still her dad, is her professor. Her mother is dead and she has siblings other than Josie. It is in this world where she falls in love with Paul, who later dies in battle. Then, she goes to a global warming world where she lives in a submarine; this is where she learns her dad isn’t dead, and that Theo has been hijacked by an alternate dimension version under Wyatt’s control. Every one unites in the end, including the “real” Theo and Marguerite and Paul are going to give their love a go.

2.5 stars /generously/.

This book stole my attention right away. The idea of the story was very interesting and the book did a good job of getting me invested in the plot. Unfortunately it didn't last long. It had such a strong finish but none of the characters felt well developed, the love-triangle took up too much of the plot (can we just be done with love triangles already?) and I felt like the plot shifted too far from the very interesting story I had been expecting. The end held up a little stronger but overall I didn't care as much at the end. Worth a read? Maybe.

I didn't really know what to expect when I first started the book but I am entirely glad I got the chance to read it because it was a really good read. I love the characters and all the cool physics / scientific ideas that the book mentions. I especially love how the author manages to introduce love (that isn't only based on affectionate love) while keeping close to the main focus of the book -- bringing justice to her dad and fixing the dimension travelling situation. Also, the idea of travelling between dimensions is extremely beautiful (yet unfathomable) to me but still made so much sense, mostly because of the writer's great writing. This book really kept me on my toes and I sure screamed and teared a lot more than I expected because of it.
It was a fast read and a great one at that.
(now I have to go and study for my exam tomorrow though :/)

Interesting idea, but not sure it came together in the end. Do I not like the audiobook actor? Was it too cloyingly YA? Unfortunately at my age I am not very forgiving of an only average book.
