In all of the previous books we have watched the attraction between both Jordan Pride and Katie and of how they have helped with the war in any way that they can.
Katie has previously been infected and now ten years have passed since the beginning of the war and she has found a new way in life with a job in the police force and with two male shifters in killing werewolves as she can sense them.
Katie has loved Jordan since he rescued her as a 4yr old cub running from her foster father, scared and after having shifted for the very first time.
Jordan has been keeping his attraction from Katie, but it is only after something happens to threaten his time on earth that he finally admits that he wants her, but in true fashion it takes Katie to challenge him of him to finally claim her as his.
We still get to see the progression of the war, new characters come in to play and make demands and we get to see more of our beloved characters from previous books.
I am seriously loving this series.

During those ten years Katie Smith has been virtually living as a human because she can't shift into her cougar form. A virus that the evil Kurjan vampires developed and with which she was infected stole that ability from her. It did give her one advantage, though. She can sense and track deadly werewolves, male shifters who have been infected with the virus and have become killing machines. The only "cure" is to put them down. She has spent the intervening years working with a team doing just that. And living away from Jordan Pride.

After all, what good is she to him? She's a shifter who can't shift. And, she believes that he still sees her as a child.
Jordan is the alpha of his cougar pride, and watched Katie grow up. He's wanted Katie since the day she became an adult. The bittersweet relationship between the ill-fated pair complicates matters.

Whoo-hoo! Katie and Jordan's story! I'd been waiting for their book since they were first introduced, and I'm so glad they finally … well, you'll see. Let's just say that Jordan was worth the wait.
Jordan didn't kiss. He consumed.
Oh. Yeah.
Jordan is a sexy, protective, honorable, powerful, alpha hero who does everything in his power to keep Katie safe. But Katie doesn't want to be "kept." She wants to fight for Jordan, and fight she does. She jumps in with both feet, whether it's in fighting werewolves or the virus. She's not about to lose Jordan now that she's finally got his attention.
The plot has many entwined story lines going on at once. Aside from Katie and Jordan's plot lines, there are story lines that continue to be carried along from book to book. Also, we get to catch up with old friends from previous books. The story of Janie, Zane, and Kalin continues. We get to see Zane as an adult, and he's hot! I'd say I can't wait for Janie and Zane's story, but that will probably be the end of the series so I should be careful what I wish for.

Not the strongest in the series--but I loved Jordan Pride when he showed up in the other books, so I enjoyed reading his HEA.

The jump forward in time was a bit surprising but makes sense. It's always sad when war can't be finished quickly and drags on for what seems like forever. I look forward to reading more to see how the characters continue to develop and how the storyline ends.

wow its about time these two stepped up to the plate...not sure I love that there was a damn DECADE between this and the last story but oh well. can't wait to see what happens next to this amazing bunch of guys

ENFIN l'histoire de Jordan et Katie <3
C'est confirmé, cette série est géniale ET addictive >< Je dévore chaque livre à la vitesse de l'éclair x)
Ce que j'ai particulièrement aimé :
- la relation entre Jordan et Katie. Contrairement aux couples précédents où ce sont plutôt le destin qui les force ensemble, là on a une véritable histoire d'amour et c'est waouh <3
- ce livre et cette série ne sont pas des romances uniquement, il y a une véritable histoire derrière avec la guerre contre les méchants vampires mais aussi les démons et les problèmes avec les shifters sans oublier l'histoire du virus ... Ici plusieurs années se sont écoulées et la situation est loin de s'être améliorée ...
- des taaaas de questions : qui était Maggie avant ?? Vont-ils arriver à vaincre les démons ?? Et trouver un remède au virus ?? Et JASE ???!!
Bref, je fonce sur le prochain livre avec Kane notre scientifique préféré !!
PS : je confirme, j'ai BESOIN d'un livre sur Maggie et Terrent <3 Et sur Caleb et Lily <3

It's confirmed, this series is awesome AND addictive >< I devoured each book at the speed of lightning x)
What I particularly liked :
- the relationship between Jordan and Katie. Unlike previous couples where it is rather destiny that forces them together, there is a true love story and it is WOW <3
- this book and this series are not romances only, there is a real story behind with the war against the evil vampires but also the demons and the problems with the shifters without forgetting the story of the virus ... Here several years have passed and the situation is far from having improved ...
- loooot of questions : who was Maggie before ?? Will they get to defeat the demons ?? And find a cure for the virus ?? And JASE ???!!
In short, I'm SO reading the next book right now with Kane our favorite scientist!
PS: I confirm, I NEED a book on Maggie and Terrent <3 And on Caleb and Lily <3
