Initially picked this up because it takes place in Seattle, but it doesn't really take place in Seattle. The neighborhoods are made up, it's mostly just a stand-in for a generic city.

That said, this was great. More gruesome than I typically enjoy, but very solid. Driven by the characters, who felt very real. I really enjoyed this.

I was so surprised that this book has previously been so well received, I definitely found it easy to get through as the pacing is fast, but I could not bring myself to care about any of these characters. The ending was also so unsatisfying & I was expecting at least another 2/3 chapters. The set up for the plot was great & at the beginning I was into it but after the first third I was quite disengaged & uninterested.

Mysteries/Thrillers don't come any better than this. Thanks to @haileyann for the rec to read
I wasn’t familiar with this author and wow have I been missing out!
I just finished this book and quite frankly, I am not even sure I can do this book justice in my review.
Horribly dark and twisted, but in a delicious way!! I enjoyed the character development of Georgina.
From the beginning of this book to the end, you are continually going back and forth between whether or not you want to see her as villain or a victim. There's a lot of times I guessed at what's going to happen, and then Hillier hits you with something you couldn't have seen coming. Dark, twisted & depraved.. What a twisted delight!!!

READ THIS BOOK!!!!

I really liked this book, kept my attention so I finished it very quickly. It was more graphic than I would prefer in multiple ways, but I was able to get past that. I also guessed the twist before we got there, but just made it satisfying when I found out I was right.
