The "for dummies" version of the original hoax. Full review: https://fakegeekboy.wordpress.com/2020/05/10/the-necronomicon-wars/

Cool cover, lazy interior. Still, gets points for the number of people who've been fooled by this transparent forgery. Full review: https://fakegeekboy.wordpress.com/2020/05/10/the-necronomicon-wars/

So, it is disturbing to me that someone has marked pages, and highlighted stuff in this book. Magic does not have to be scary, however this book mentions several times about the dangers of the Gods and Goddesses, and Demons that you can call via the spells in this book. Now, I think to truly be dangerous, you need more info than merely reading this book, however, a little knowledge can be very dangerous indeed.

The book is repetitive. Since it is a collection of four books, reading each of them reference to each other, and summarize each other constantly. Skip over the repetition, it doesn't add anything.

Unless you like reading pages of incantations with names that either look like someone let the baby at the keyboard or was transcribing the last utterings of someone drowning in pudding, there won't be too much of interest in the Necronomicon. Some of the historical stuff in the beginning about Sumerian religion was pretty interesting, though I'm not sure how accurate it is. Worth a flip-through.

As someone who loves reading, watching, and learning about things with the occult and myth, this book is just terrible. If you want a true feel for Lovecraft just read his actual works and if you want things about demons and ancient ones stick to LaVey Satanism or Peter Gilmore’s Satanic Scriptures. This is a terrible work of fiction that is trying to pass itself as nonfiction. Don’t waste your money to just be disappointed and look like a stupid emo teenagers that tries to be edgy by reading/owning this

Interesting enough, although this really is just a description of rituals for summoning/banishing some of the things mentioned in Lovecraft's work. A nice detail to flesh it out if you've read Lovecraft, but not something that I'd read on its own for fun.

I just skimmed through this looking for Lovecraft references. There were like two. I’m disappointed.
