feminist theory: from margin to center by bell hooks is quintessential literature on feminist theory. There´s of course more to be explored but this is an excellent starting point for people who don´t know much about feminism or may have misconceptions about it. It also serves as a well-rounded reference for readers better versed but wanting exact references. I found it challenging, it helped me examine and re-examine my own role and responsibilities in the movement, and the author articulated ideas I hadn´t found words for yet. This is an excellent book, suited for anyone willing to read it.
