Just shows Christie's versatility as Poirot takes on 12 cases that echo the Labours of Hercules. Light, fun read.

This is a collection of twelve short stories, twelve as the twelve labours of Hercules. Except that this time it's Hercule Poirot who has to accomplish them. The reading was pleasant, although I do prefer longer stories.

Some of the stories were excellent, others didn’t hold my interest. Often time there wasn’t enough “meat” on the bones of the stories to make them very intriguing because they were so short. I stuck with it purely because I love the way Hugh Fraser reads Poirot.

I really enjoyed this Hercule Poirot book. Unusually, each chapter was a separate mystery, complete in itself. This book was funnier, more lighthearted, and faster paced than some of the other Poirot novels!
