I genuinely admire Winterson's writing style and her ability to play with language. More than a novel, this is a calm, profound exploration of the significance of stories and of love to preserve what makes us human, and to act as our guide, like the lighthouse bringing you home in the dark. I loved it deeply.

Poetic and confusing in the best way possible.

I'm on the fence about this book. I loved it, but it felt like two books, or maybe three. Silver is an engaging storyteller, and Pew is fascinating. Dark's story is often confusing, but interesting, too. I just wasn't able to put it all together into one. But please, tell me more stories, Ms. Winterson.
