I listened to the audio for a  fable read along.  I really did not know much about Britney Spears life, other than what was in the news at the time.   Her story is like a nightmare and I can only hope she finds a very good psychologist/therapist and a mentor to help Britney love and respect herself, first and foremost.  It seems she has lived her life without being given any credit for her personal talent, strength, and kind heart.  She's spent a lifetime giving to a toxic family and other toxic relationships, now it's time for her to love self first and respect the beautiful woman she is, inside and out. I'd also change my last name. Just the name alone holds negativity.  I look forward to Britney creating an awesome new life with many milestones to come.

This is an extremely vulnerable story from Brittney. It was well written and provided a lot of background into her life. I didn’t know a lot about her personal life or the conservatory and it was so sad to hear about the trauma she endured. I’ve always had a love for  Brittney Spears’ songs but now I have a love for her as a person. I hope she continues to find happiness and peace.

“…maybe that’s because of the power of your thoughts. Whatever you think you are, you become…”

“…People seemed to experience my body like it was public property. Something they could complete, control, criticize, or use as a weapon.”

4.75⭐️ bc I feel guilty putting anything else reading a memoir, honestly.

What stuck out to me the most while reading this was her talk about age regression and how that influences how she expresses her freedom now and even how she reflects on her past and how she writes about it. It also had me thinking a lot about humanity as a whole and good vs bad natured people. I don’t want to go into more detail. Definitely cried. God. Love u Britney ❤️‍🩹

After reading this book in its entirety, I really feel for Britney. Everything from being sexualized as a child, having an alcoholic father, many emotionally abuse family members, forced institutionalization, and being torn down by the media.

You can tell this is written by someone who still needs a lot of healing and probably has severe PTSD. I'm glad she was able to open up about her experiences. She doesn't go too deep in this book, but maybe in due time she will write more. Either way, she has her life back and she can do whatever the heck she wants.

I wasn't a huge fan of the first half of this book, but I think I "get it" now. It follows a timeline of her life. It begins with very simple writing, not many strong opinions, and brushes off negative events. But as the story progresses and she gets older, I can tell her identity, thoughts, and mannerisms shift. Britney seems like a fundamentally sweet person, and the things that happened to her were so not fair.

Chills.

I usually like to leave long and descriptive book reviews, but there is nothing I can say other than everyone should read this book and finally learn her story as she wants it told. Britney deserves to finally be happy!
