I really loved this poetry book, you can tell the writer but a lot of their soul and passion into their poems, I could relate and feel every word.

"Before we begin, I'd like to share a story.
Once upon a time there was a jellyfish. We'll call it
You.
You become lost sometimes
You could be unsure
You tried very hard
But sometimes it didn't feel like enough.
I hate to spoil the ending
But You is fine
You is still here
You is going to make it."

I'm not necessarily a big fan of poetry in general but I read the first poem, loved it and decided to pick this up. There were a lot of poems I didn't enjoy or didn't really get but there was also a lot that really touched me. They made me feel numb and very emotional and seen.
Would maybe consider reading more.

Much like The Princess Saves Herself In This One, its aesthetic but lacks depth. Most of the poems sound like boy band lyrics and not in a good way. Stuff like She's beautiful but she doesn't know it and You are made of oceans and starlight. The one positive note is that it's wlw but even that doesn't make up for cliches and bad writing.

The 2016 poetry collection Pillow Thoughts by Australien author Courtney Peppernell accumulates a collection of her poems in a total of seven parts.

Peppernell's poems talk heavily about human emotions and are seemingly influenced by her own experiences. I had a very good time reading them. They are very emotional and were able to even have me a little sobbing at some parts.

I loved her writing and I loved her poems. They were easy to understand but also left space for own interpretation.
I can and will recommend this book.
However, as always please take note of the content warnings before reading.
