Good story about two people who have an unlikely meeting and their children who feel they are destined to be a family. Danny's character annoyed me a little, but that may be because I don't have children. The ending wasn't as emotional on Gavin's part as I would have liked (which may have had to do with the way it was read on the book on tape). Overall another good story by Debbie!

This was long over due. This was an incredible read. The story was beautiful and I am glad that I finally got to read it. A coworker of mine gave me this book after she finished reading and let me have it. I love Debbie Macomber and her ability to write stories. She is one of my favourite and her characters are always relatable. I can’t wait to read more of her stories. This is my short review, stay tuned for my long review. Overall, an amazing read.

I always love reading Debbie Macomber’s books, especially her Christmas ones. But I’m trying to branch out and read her other fiction work! They’re always such easy, feel-good reads that I enjoy immensely.

Dori’s son, Danny, decides he wants a new father for Christmas. He comes up with a plan to get a husband for Dori, and it so just happens that Gavin, an ex-football player, is his next target. He checks off everything on Danny’s list, so this should be easy enough, right? Wrong! When Gavin and his daughter, Melissa, enter into Dori and Danny’s lives, things might start falling into place… or not.

Hohoho, man oh MAN. Gavin made me so angry at times! He changed his mind every 2 pages, was temperamental, and got so angry over what seemed like nothing. Come to think of it, a lot of the characters in this book annoyed me… But overall, I enjoyed this light read and will continue to collect Debbie Macomber’s books until I’ve read them all!

I really liked this book! I’m a sucker for a happy ending so it made me feel good reading it.
