First off, I'd like to thank the author for providing me with an e-arc of this novel, in exchange for a honest review.

Red Harvest Moon is an action-packed and fast-paced story about two bandits, who set out to save a village from invading monsters. The story is filled with humour that often breaks up the frequent fighting sequences. Although I have not read anything by Miles Hurt before, upon finishing the first chapter, I knew right away that this wasn't his first written piece of work. The story has a flow to it, and the writing has a distinct style to it. It was a very fun and quick read!

My favourite aspect of the story had to be the lore and geography. I'm a sucker for world-building so hearing local tales and stories was really enticing for me. I only wish there was more of it, though I'm sure things were saved for the next books in the series. I also liked seeing the differences between the cultures of the different nations. The e-arc did not include a map, but I would love to see one eventually.

If you are in the mood for something shorter but with some substance still - enough that you could read it as a stand-alone - then I recommend reading Red Moon Harvest. The story arc is solid and it doesn't feel like one of those stories that ends so abruptly that you feel forced to buy the sequel - which can sometimes deter me from doing so. It feels a lot more organic. In addition it's a good induction to the author's work.

This was a fun book to read centered around Ren and Crimp.
Spoiler the Book takes place over 2-3 days. Red and Crimp vary back and forth about what they are going to do. I appreciated Ren's backstory and thought it was good. Krond beating the spell caster was a little too quick for me. Also Ren's power level seemed to vary as required
