New to me author and what a great way to start with such a beautifully written and amazing narrated book.
I loved every minute of this book, from the main characters with their differences in upbringing and all the funny and sweet and heartbreaking moments.
Bodhi is a boy band celebrity that wants to find out more about his past and Breeze is such a caring and great female character.
When life gets them in a very dangerous situation, they get in close proximity and start to realize that maybe life it's more than they knew before and we get to ride with them in a story about overcoming their past and looking for a future together.
It's my first book from the author but won't be the last that I’ll be reading for sure.

Bodhi and Breeze

Didn’t think I could love a couple as much or more than the Cake series couples. Then I met Bodhi and Breeze and that was it. I was done for. You can’t help but root for them from day one meeting under the worst of circumstances. And oh my! The pet menagerie! Sweet pea makes me want to get a chihuahua! Love that little dog too! This book will captivate you and you will not put it down!!!! Another must read from an amazing author J Bengtsson!

My Rating: 4.5 Stars

I didn't know what to expect when I began this book. I was thinking music star bad boy strings screaming fan along. I could not have been more wrong. What I got was a great love story that begin against the tragic backdrop of a brush fire.

Bodhi Beckett and Breeze meet under the most difficult of circumstances. He jumps in a car to escape a devastating fire, and he sees her on the road as she is attempting to do the same - her and her brood of animals. Bodhi has a great heart, so he gladly saves Breeze.

This touching story was just wonderful. While Bodhi is just looking for a safe place, secretly Breeze is on fire in another way. He is shirtless. What is more is he is a rock star! And now, she is in his car. Bodhi wants privacy and secrecy as he needs to do everything he can to avoid his wild fans. As they get to know one another, the story takes on a rather sensitive edge. Bodhi learns of the heartbreak that Breeze experienced and she begins to understand his past as a childhood star, with him now being a singer.

Neither Bodhi nor Breeze had it easy. What they do have now, however, is a powerful attraction to one another. However, as in all romance novels, love never comes easy. There must be conflict and the way it was handled was very well done. The realities of being involved with a rock star affected Breeze on a very deep level. The way J. Bengtsson presented it was compelling, as there seemed no way for Bodhi and Breeze to find their forever love. There were other serious situations dealt with in this book.

I absolutely loved Like the Wind. Her writing style was captivating and kept me turning pages. I read this book in only two sittings and am pleased to say that it had a terrific ending, one that I didn't expect. As a matter of fact, the ending was so warm that I re-read it. This delightful book leaves me with a strong desire to read much more buy this talented author.

Many thanks to Amazon Digital Services and to Inkslinger PR for this ARC to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

After reading ‘Ripple Effect’ the other day, I knew I wanted to read more books by J. Bengtsson. So when I saw that there was a book, although another standalone, that could be linked to ‘Ripple Effect’ I knew that book had to be my next read. So I got myself a Kindle version of ‘Like The Wind’ and started reading.

In ‘Like The Wind’ we meet Bodhi Beckett, an international pop star who recently found out his past has been a lie. As a pop start Bodhi’s every move is planned and nothing he does is private. But finding out everything in his past isn’t the way he thought it was, made him want to rebel against his life, and his manager a.k.a. his father. But even that isn’t possible. So when Bodhi’s gets the opportunity to get away for a few days without anyone bothering him, he couldn’t resist. Unfortunately life has something in store for him though, and he soon finds himself in the middle of a raging wildfire. Fighting for his life, he meets Breeze, a hairdresser and pet lover. Breeze is unlike anyone he has ever met and soon they are spending more time together than they thought they would.

After reading a little bit about Bodhi in Ripple Effect, I knew I wanted to read more about his story. Bodhi just really fascinated me from the start. And after reading this book I’m even more fascinated by him. Bodhi’s whole life has been planned by other people, and in this book he finally gets to do things himself. It was both touching and wonderful to read this part, and I loved every moment we got spend at Bodhi’s side.

But my definite favorite character in this read was Breeze. She was such a wonderful, fun, interesting and unique girl. I just loved her right from the start. I loved how Breeze worked for every penny she got. She got burned by a previous relationship, but still believed in love and trusted she would one day find her true love. I just loved her spirit. And the romance between Breeze and Bodhi was so fun. I simple loved them.

What I loved most about ‘Like The Wind’, was that is was romantic but also kept you sitting on the edge of your seat. Definitely like the other books I read by J. Bengtsson. She has a way of writing that just keeps you hooked. And above all it makes me want to read all her books. Why not five stars then? Well, I thought Bodhi’s past was a bit to much. But if that’s all.. I honestly would have given this book a 4.9 if it was an option.

Story did not grab my attention and started to get too whiny in tone to continue.

Bhodi Becket is a former child star and current boyband heartthrob. It seems, to the onlooker, that he is living the dream. Fame, fortune, groupies... but things are not always as they seem. He's been raised by his single father who is the stage dad from hell. He can put pageant moms and momagers to shame. He micromanages every single aspect of Bhodi's a life. Bhodi's at a breaking point. Things get even worse than he gets a visit from a very familiar face: the mother he was told was dead. He goes on a bender and his dad sends him off to a "well-ness retreat" of five days in a secluded home. What no one was expecting was that the California wildfires would catch Bhodi isolated in this ginormous house.

Fleeing for his life, he barely escapes with nothing but his guitar and a Range Rover that apparently is used by the nanny. In his rush to escape, he almost runs over Breeze Cassidy, who's there with a menagerie of weird pets he takes care of. Together, they escape the fires.

Bhodi takes the opportunity to have a few days of peace and solitude and finally reach out to the woman who gave birth to him. Bhodi and Breeze go on a journey to discover his past, while creating a bond that will tie them forever.

Although this is a "rockstar" romance, it mostly focuses on Bhodi's  journey of self-discovery and Breeze's learning that she can love again after a major disillusionment. It's a little insta-lovey, but it's been known that people can develop feelings pretty fast when they face a hardship together. I loved Bhodi and I like how Breeze doesn't get all groupie.

If you listen to the audiobook for the amazing narration by Callie Dalton and Zachary Webber, be advised that the epilogue is not present in the audiobook. If you want to know a little more about the couple, download the e-book. It's worthy it. It's in the epilogue that this book ties in to the Cake series.

Possible triggers: The first few chapters are very descriptive of two people being trapped in the wild fires trying to escape. Child abandonment, toxic relationship with a parent, cheating (not the main characters, but important to the plot), drug use
