The final part to the Spiderwick Chronicles, in which we see if the Grace siblings can save the day.

I'd highly recommend these books for those kiddos who are ready for more than picture books but not quite ready for the Harry Potter series. Short books with short chapters, the story moves along quite swiftly.

Uninspired ending, and a couple of gross scenes involving a cow and some baby dragons.

Satisfying conclusion to a very enjoyable series. While it was terrifying for the children to have their mother kidnapped, I was most satisfied that she finally learned about everything going on! I enjoyed seeing how perceptive Jared was when he able to identify that what appeared to be his father as Mulgarath. I was most excited to learn that Jared did the sketches in the field guide; now we know he found his passion in drawing. One of the best events was seeing Mulgarath turn into a swan, thinking he could easily escape, but getting gobbled up by Hogsqueal! And, finally, I thought Arthur's death scene was a brilliant touch. I was glad he got to say goodbye to his daughter and I thought that his decision to turn to dust was delivered in a very beautiful manner.

Read this series as an adult after reading them as a child—they are just as good as I remember them being! Highly recommend to readers of any age.
