Who knew the invention of those bright bright colors had such a "colorful" story behind it? And a Cleveland Ohio connection as well, which I found charming. This biography tells the life stories of the brothers Bob and Joe Switzer, who accidentally-on-purpose came up with a permanent glowing paint that could be used in a variety of places from safety signs to magic tricks. The book is illustrated IN DAY-GLO, which might be overly bright to some people but I found it really cool, and the colors and drawing style made it seem very 1950's cartoony, which I also loved. Neat book!

The art in this has a fun, retro feel. This was an enjoyable story about creativity and invention.

Fun story about an invention many of us probably don't realize is an invention, Day-Glo paint. (Freudian slip? but I first wrote Gay-Glo)(maybe I just find that funny) Chris Barton tells a good story full of interesting facts about the brothers' lives and Tony Persiani's illustrations and use of the colors in question are really well done. I good pick for inventor report time.

Cool looking, well-told and well-researched history of Day-glo paint. Good for kids who have brothers and like to invent things. Would make a nice STEM storytime with a blacklight and a dark room.

An interesting story about something I haven't given much thought to, not a must-read but still a fun one.

I really enjoyed this book. The story is about two brothers who discover day-glo paint. Though this is a picture book it is geared more for 2nd grade and up. The illustrations are very cool and I liked how the day-glo colors progressed to match the discovery process. Definitely worth a read.
