The tragedy of multigenerational trauma related to immigration and racism is palpable in this book. Everyone wants to do what's best for their children yet no one can due to the circumstances of having to leave one's home country for a better life.

This is a beautiful multi-generation story (my favourite kind) AND it's set in Vancouver! I'm trying to read more local authors and this didn't disappoint.
