Sad but well written and interesting, not too long but instead pretty short. There was room for more. But very very sad. I like how the reader is also put forward to bet and the Tokyo story part( I love Tokyo story)

Wonderful read. An examination of happiness and belonging and power. I was surprised by much I enjoyed it.

I loved this book and it's attempt to explore human consciousness in the mind of a dog. I also liked the tidbit at the end explaining the origin and functions of the poems through the book.

An extremely beautifully written book that looks into the human condition. I can’t say I agree with the conclusions drawn by the novel, but it was really lovely. The last chapter in particular really touched my heart. I was really astounded by the creativity and imaginative thought that came with the more abstract concepts and ideas in this novel. Fifteen Dogs was uncomfortable and compelling. I couldn’t put it down.

The narration was too dull for me and often seemed tedious to read. I suppose this would be a magical-realism sort of book because it does mix in Greek mythology in with a normal setting (Toronto). It's a little weird, to be honest.

This book is an anomaly for me.

Fifteen Dogs is beautifully written, deeply thought provoking and compelling. It is truly a phenomenal book and well deserving of the prizes it has received.

All of that said, it was a difficult read for me and although I was truly moved by the insight and intricacy of Alexis’ narrative, Fifteen Dogs was not a book I enjoyed reading...

I appreciate the concept, but felt the execution was not entirely successful. Plus, there was too much casual, senseless misogyny, and the author seemed out of touch with natural canine and human behavior; those were points on which I found myself less willing to suspend disbelief.
