I had to stop reading this book as it is glorifying grooming. FMC is 17 when she meets 32 yr old MMC.

While FMC is still 17 he watches her masturbate & jerks off to her doing this. When she turns 18 (add in she was kidnapped by MMC & there is a savior complex between the two) he makes his move on her 18th birthday. MMC POV even mentions that he was plotting & planning over the 1 year.

Even with FMC turning 18, she is still a child and a victim of savior complex by a man 15 years her senior. Author, please rethink the message & fantasy you are presenting to your readers.

She’s 17 when they meet and he’s wanking to a live camera feed of her in her bedroom. Then waits till her 18th birthday to fuck her. But wanking to a 17 year old is weird. It was a weird book. It was uncomfortable. He was basically grooming her and she basically got Stockholm syndrome bc he locked her away for a full year. Again it was weird.

I didn’t think I’d enjoy this as much as I did (due to the age gap). But honestly, it was done in a semi healthy way?? Like of course a 32yr old man wanting a 17yr old is off putting (even though he waited til she turned 18), but it wasn’t a fetish-y trope (for example: there was no sick obsession w her being a virgin). She wasn’t a clueless-innocent woman who learned everything through an older man…her unfortunate upbringing forced her to become mature at a young age.
The communication between Juliet and Maximo was pretty good all things considered! They actually make sense together.

I'm surprised by how much I liked this book! There wasn't much plot other than the romance and the characters weren't very diverse either but that's to he expected with a trope like this. Very dark and fucked up but very good! I'll definitely be reading more of Layla Frost.

While there are some aspects I really don't like and were unnecessary (the women starting the book as a 17 year old virgins 😬) I find the characters lovable and the smut is good. I've reread it a several times, and I wish there was more. If you're into mafia/kidnapping smut, you'll like it.

The audiobook is pretty good, his voice is great, hers takes some getting used to.

If you love dark possessive and caring Daddy romances this is a good book for you. The writing is a bit sloppy, but I liked how the woman's pleasure and safety were always prioritized, despite the whole kidnapping thing.

The end of this book is wild, and not in a good way.***Spoiler*** I hate when a kinky book ends in a super conventional marriage with kids, it always just feels like a waste.
