I didn’t enjoy this novel as much as some of Horowitz’s other novels. The premise seemed a bit weak to me. Although I enjoy the Susan Ryland character more than his Nathaniel Hawthorne as protagonist. It also ends on a better note & doesn’t seem rushed. I do enjoy the literary references this book makes & you have to know quite a bit about mystery writers to catch every “Easter egg” Horowitz hides in the story. I still think Horowitz is a great author & I will continue to read his novels.

Was going for a higher mark, but the ending was a bit disappointing.
