Another gritty and dark story, Rachel Caine is on par with Karin Slaughter for addictive stories that explore the dirtiest minds and actions you can think of (or can't even imagine). I thought this was a trilogy but this is actually a series and this one has a completely new mystery. Since the Melvin Royal arc ended in volume 2 I was wondering what this one would be about, but it has a brand new mystery and of course we continue to follow Gwen and family as they struggle to get accepted. I still love the characters and am very happy this is an on-going series, Rachel Caine is a new favorite thriller author and I'm excited for her next story.

Definitely the weakest entry in the series so far.
But I really came to love Gwen, Sam and Lenny (sorry still kinda hate Conner and I wish they would send him to the Ranch).
For them alone it was worth reading it.
It seems like this is turning into a longer series and I am here for it.

This was just okay. definitely the weakest installment so far but it’s setup now for an interesting turn. I don’t know if I’ll keep going if there’s more books. Maybe if kindle has a special deal.

4/5.

I really enjoyed this. The beginning had some pacing issues but once the story picked up, I couldn't put it down. I'm interested to see what the next book has in store.

Although I didn't find this book as strong as the first two in the series, I can definitely see that this book is needed to bridge the gap between the first two books and the direction the series is going to take in the future.

The beginning was a bit tedious with the talk show aftermath for Gwen, and the drama between Sam and Gwen. However, things picked up in Wolfhunter when people started dying. The last couple of chapters were gripping and tense.

I think there were several loose ends in this book that may be revisited in the future, so I will definitely continue with this series to see what happens with Gwen and Sam.
