I’m giving ALL the stars to Bradeigh’s debut novel, Imposter.
This book was the definition of unputdownable - I started it at work and couldn’t go to sleep until it was finished. Hands down one of the best thrillers I’ve read in a long time!

That was bananas in the best way and I loved it so much.
What we have here is a thriller with a medical angle, an is-she or isn't-she unreliable narrator, and a nice juicy twist I didn't see coming.
This is the best suspense thriller I've read in a while and I can't wait to see what else Bradeigh Godfrey does.

Lilian is going to dinner with her sister Rosie. They’ve been estranged for years but Rosie reached out and said it was important so Lilian agreed. On the way to the restaurant, Rosie says she needs to talk to her about something that is life or death important, but it’s not a conversation for the car. Rosie also keeps looking behind them like she’s scared. Before they can make it to dinner, their car is hit and they go off the road. When Rosie wakes up in the hospital she’s not able to recognize Lilian or tell what she was going to share.
This premise definitely drew me in but it took me a little while to get fully captured by this story but once I was in, I was all in! I really ended up enjoying this one a lot and would recommend if you’re looking for a compelling read. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the advance reading copy.

I would give this book 10 stars if I could. It had me hooked from the very beginning, not knowing what to believe or who to trust. I had so many theories about what was going on. One of them was correct, so you can predict it but wow wow wow was this book great!

PLOT TWIST is an understatement. Never seen it coming. Really enjoyed this read and highly recommend.

Popcorn thriller burnout is a real thing but I never tire of a thriller with head and heart. IMPOSTER by #debutauthor Bradeigh Godfrey will have you flying through the pages, but there is so much more to the book than the standard thrills and chills.
The story centers around estranged sisters Lillian and Rosie who are involved in a car accident which leaves Rosie with a severe traumatic brain injury and memory loss. Prior to the accident Rosie confides that she has a secret to share with Lillian and it is a matter of life or death. In the aftermath of the crash and her sister’s injuries Lillian is determined to find answers.
I love the way Bradeigh Godfrey drew on her personal knowledge as a physician who works with people who have sustained traumatic brain injuries to construct the story. It stayed true to medical facts without bogging the reader down.
Throughout my career as a speech pathologist I have worked with children and adults who have sustained severe brain injuries. I thought Bradeigh did a fantastic job portraying the ways a head injury can impact the patient and the entire family.
This was a departure from Godfrey’s previous novel, THE BEACH TRAP, co-written under the pen name Ali Brady. Godfrey’s foray into the mystery/thriller genre truly showcases her versatility as a writer.
Readers who enjoy a clever mystery with themes of sisterhood and loyalty won’t want to miss IMPOSTER.

I think I was expecting it to be “creepier” than it was, and maybe that impacted my overall impression of the book, but it was still a solid read. I’m still trying to figure out what was “missing” for me to have it be 3 stars instead of 4, and honestly I think it may be that I didn’t like the main character as a person 😬 I’m not downplaying any of her postpartum anxiety because that stuff is real, but I guess I kept thinking Rosie was right and it really wasn’t Lillian. I wanted her to be someone else 😂

Started off a little slow, I wasn't sure I wanted to finish the book... but I'm glad I did. There were so many twists and turns. A couple were predictable but most were surprising.
