The stars changed to 4 when I read the authors note and acknowledgements.I found that there are people in real life who look for cold cases of missing people .
Such Good Samaritans are what this society needs to have humanity kept alive.

The story is definitely an edge of the seat page Turner. But along with the plot, the author also builds character, not just of the protagonist but also all others that appear.

The concept is definitely new, and worth giving a thought.

My only problem with such do it all by myself characters is that , it’s not really smart/near realism for you to go fight the bad guys.. without police or arms.

I give credits for the protagonist to involve police and the family right from the beginning.Cannot say much of the ending though.

Different from the usual, and it felt more real - the lead character is not a trained police officer, former military, or a PI. Instead she's a normal(ish) person with difficulties she's worked hard to overcome.

Book Review: Before She Disappeared by Lisa Gardner ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lisa Gardner is an awesome writer! This was different than any thriller book that I’ve read as the main character is just a civilian who helps find missing persons and makes sure they are all female minorities. That’s so awesome!! My heart was racing toward the end of the book. I thought for sure I knew what was happening and then Gardner had a twist at the end! So good!! Definitely recommend!!

This was fine. It was entertaining and a quick read. However, I just don’t find it realistic. Not that I expect any sort of mystery thriller book to make sense but there were too many instances of situations that would never happen. But this was still good enough to finish and I enjoyed it enough to read more by this author.

First Lisa Gardner book I've read and I'll be reading more. Good mystery thriller which kept me on my toes - didn't guess the twist.
