I’m so glad we got to dig in with Circus! I love this mysterious man who lives on the outskirts of town in a home no one has ever seen and with a job that no one quite understands. Rowan on the other hand,

what a tragic story. The self loathing is so deep! I loved how Circus had compassion for Rowan, even after Rowan’s painful actions and quick exit. I loved how they both shepherded each other through some very painful shit. I appreciated the portrayal of Rowan’s religious trauma.

As with the previous book in the series, I think the author’s writing has only gotten better with time. Still, it’s fun to go back to these early works that I had skipped because they aren’t in the Sadenverse.
