I learnt a lot from this book - about the Orthodox Jewish community, specifically in London, but also about myself, and my own complex relationship with religion (Christianity rather than Judaism) and identity. It wasn't quite what I expected, especially having seen the film adaptation, but I enjoyed it immensely more, and found the ending vastly more satisfying.
Moderate: Infidelity
Minor: Homophobia
