Meh. Just a more explicit rip-off of Nina and Matthias; didn't enjoy as much

That ending...I can’t even begin to explain what that ending did to me.
I enjoyed almost every aspect of this story. It was written to be an easy and approachable story which I liked. My only qualms about it is that the written was so non-descript that I really struggled to understand where our characters stood during any given moment. I also found the complicated parts of the plot to be well just that...but they were either skimmed over and forgotten completely.
I love Lou’s passion and Reid’s acceptance of her. He came to love the person and not the witch and isn’t that what every girl wants? I loved the way these characters played off each other and that secret parentage is almost the new norm.
All in all a decent story but I found the writing to be a little lacking. I’ll still continue with the story though. I want to see how one of my favourite witches gets through this!
Upon Reread to start the sequel I find my thoughts haven’t changed except that I knew what I was getting into so the bit that’s bother me were less irksome than they were before. I’m intrigued to see if I feel similarly about the sequel.
