Thrillers are not usually my cup of tea, but I enjoyed this one, largely because it balanced out the darkness and brokenness of the world and family relationships with a couple of characters who were just really kind and lovely people.
I also appreciated the themes around the sensationalization of true crime, privacy, and just generally people being jerks on the internet.

Before watching the Apple TV series based off this book, I wanted to make sure I read it. I loved the format of this book where the main substance was dialogue from a podcast set throughout the book. The podcast dialogue varied from paragraph writing to play-type dialogue. The way it was written made this book a quick read! It was a good thriller in that the actual plot was enjoyable. Is it my favorite thriller plot of all time? No. But for someone who may be new to thrillers or just enjoys the basic whodunit scenario, then you’ll enjoy this book.
