This book is amazing the plot just never sits still and the characters are so believable and unique and I just loved it , however for some people this may be very triggering but if you do decide to read it I’m sure you’ll enjoy the story xx

As a huge fan of true crime, this book series has been on my radar forever. I was finally able to get my hands on the box set - thank you B&N and your 50% hardcover sale - and I pretty much devoured the series in less than a week.

Pippa Fitz-Amboi decides for her senior capstone project that she's going to solve a 5 year old murder - or at least prove the innocence of the one convicted. However, this project takes on a life of it's own almost instantly as Pip begins to unravel countless lies from people she thought she could trust.

This book had me all over the place. I felt like a kid from Ghostwriter, writing down all the clues in my notebook. So many times I thought I had it figured out only for some twist to come out of nowhere and send me reeling. So bravo to Jackson. She had me not wanting to put the book down because I just had to know what was coming.

This book was a near perfect murder mystery to me. The one think that kept it from being 5 stars was (view spoiler). That's a hard limit for me and one that I found hard to get over. But aside from that, this book had it all. Yes, Pip put herself in situations that were probably not the safest but she's a teenager and she thinks herself invincible. Her actions felt very much a natural reaction from who she was and while I didn't always agree with her tactics, she got it done.

I really felt for the Singh family especially as it became more apparent that Sal was not the killer. A senseless death that had catastrophic results in the lives of everyone it touched. Great fantastic debut and one that makes you just want to grab the next book!
