I've loved everything else I've read by Tchaikovsky (maybe 8 books?), but though this was also an interesting world, it was just a bit too depressing for me. Also, it had certain content I personally can't take in any media, and though I could tell it was important for the character-development and probably the story as a whole, it just wasn't for me. I finished Dogs of War and liked it alright.

Finishing this book immediately brought the song Timshel to mind and I feel the general vibe the song is going for is really explored in this story.
What is morality in humanity and what is our future? Should we be scared of our legacy?
Clinging to a future that we're not meant to be a part of only stunts our growth.
