This collection is gorgeous. I've been having some trouble connecting with poetry lately, but this really brought me out of my funk so I made sure to take my time with it. Some particular favourites:

Space Race, Unpassable Exam, Finding Ariadne, Girl/Sea, Love Letters from Helen of Troy, Graveyard Hymn, and Homesick.

Homesick honestly beat me up and left me for dead. And now I'm going to use a bunch of mixed imagery and contradictory pairs to describe this collection; it had such a delicate, gentle violence to it, and it made me want to hold all the poems really carefully. Even though there's a lot of loss and separation and (to me it read like) mental illness themes, there's a thread of hope through all of them that makes it bright. Little crystal poems. As well as that I always love a good myth-by-women type of poem, and the feminine energy of chaos in a fragile case was, how you say, real good for me. It was kind of like reading the way Florence Welch dances. Intuitive and a little uncomfortable, but really beautiful in how vulnerable it was.
I love it a bunch, is what I'm saying, in the most irritating, roundabout way I can.

I really enjoyed these poems, some of which really made me stop and reread and feel for a second. I'd love for the collection to be longer!

first read - 'looking back' section resonated the most with where I'm at right now; very cathartic and relaxing read, though emotionally charged at the same time. will definitely get back to it again.

I am going to say that no matter how amazed anyone else is that I electively read and finished a poetry collection, I am more surprised. What's more, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I think it helps that the poems aren't long or arduous to read or understand. I think it helps that the writer is of my generation, not only in age but in online and social media usage. She is a tumblr user, a fan, a woman in the modern world, which make her words and her poems that much more relatable. There of some, of course, that I don't 'get' or don't love, but there are some that I really enjoyed.

It's also nice to show some love and support for the lesser known author, something I am very much guilty of forgetting to do!

Some of the poems were really great, and some I didn't like as much. Altogether a good collection of poems, and I'll definitely read more of her poetry.
