The plot twists and story line in this book are enough to give you a sweet case of whiplash! Great book, perfect for a creepy thrill.

I was quite disappointed by this book. I expected more from all the hype I’d heard around the story. Slow start and then bombarded with twists in the last 100 pages. Some of the twists were great but others felt forced. Still enjoyed this book though.

For pace this is slow for the first half but I enjoyed piecing things together, despite finding the narrator to be a bit frustrating. I couldn’t put the book down during the second half, as there were a lot of twists. Some felt a little silly (
the Patrick/Ricky name thing felt like a stretch
) but I still enjoyed it. This kept me reading late at night, I was so captured by it. If you’re looking for a slightly melodramatic gothic mystery you’ll probably like this!

This isn't my typical genre, but my Book Club always chooses a creepy book for October. The plot included several unexpected twists. Many were implausible and felt unnecessary — the book could have stood without them.  None of the violent scenes were overly graphic.

The author went a little crazy with the plot twists at the end, but overall, it was an engaging read. I’ve never really read a ton in the  thriller/mystery genre, so this felt like a good foray into that realm. I’m still marinating on the end, so my rating might change.
