Vampire and lesbian literature that came before Dracula? Sign me in

A quick read (100 pages!) enjoyable classic, written beautifully, I might add, which revolves around two female characters, one being THE original female vampire, and their complicated relationship with lesbian undertones… nothing else to say. Read it

Why does Stoker get all the praise?!
Some OG vampire lore if I ever read any.

a tightly-written gothic vampire novel from the 19th century. A few plot contrivances but the focus on female characters is definitely ahead of it’s time.

The story that inspired Dracula, this is a sapphic interpretation of vampires.
This book definitely does use vampirism as a way to convey the evilness of sapphicness so you have to appreciated it for what it is as it is an older book.
