The boat and zombie plot just kind of end. We get a little bit more back story before returning to the present. Then bam! it’s Easter, which feel likes a bit of filler between plots because suddenly we are brought into a new, school-based mystery. The transition from the zombies/ship to the school is poorly done. The former plot isn’t wrapped up well when we are promptly given a new one. I hope that we get more answers soon and that this isn’t the end.

burh i genuinely can't tell if Sebastian and Ciel begrudgingly care for each other or if they actually are just working together until the contract's up and Sebastian kills him or whatever

The end of the awesome zombie cruise liner arc !! Oh how I will miss you. <3
We get further into flashback of when Sebastian first came to be Ciel's butler and it was so interesting to see. Especially considering how smooth it is between them nowadays, vs the beginning when they were both still learning. The patience the demon butler has lol I could never.
I'm very happy this arc went out with a bang but it is slightly disappointing how the culprit isn't even caught?? So we did all that for basically nothing besides a thousand people dying like okay.

The progress of this series seems to have me pleased more so in every ensuing volume. The further revealment of Sebastian and Ciel's origin story was well done but I was not too in favor of Sebastian's personality being so independent and not as subordinate as I had previously thought. Sebastian's mortality that is presented adds another depth to him. The ending of the arc seemed rather inconclusive.
Rating Update 4/5/2019- 4 stars to 2 stars. After having read a synopsis to refresh myself, I recognized that I rated the volume too high because of one chapter within the volume: the flashback to Ciel and Sebastian's origin story. The ending to the Luxury Liner arc, thee Easter Egg Hunt chapter, and the beginning of the Public Schools arc were very dull.

With the adoption of my new rating system, a two star rating is befitting. The original review and rating update from April 5, 2019, conform to the new rating system. Having read the synopsis of each chapter in this volume, I have conjured up visually certain scenes but cannot remember how I felt about the volume with certainty. I do recall being bored with the sections mentioned in the rating update. The only sections that do not reach a two star rating are the scenes of Sebastian's flashback to the continuation of Ciel and his origin story, which earns a three star. It's really just an alright volume, not to the point of dislike in any section.
