Tink is always the character I'm going to talk about. He's so active in this book and I loved it. Ivy having a kitten also gives me life.

Ivy: she's dealing with some serious PTSD. And I connect more with her in this book than any other book and shit hits the fan really quick.

Ren: still stereotypical male book character. I can barely remember him in this book. Lololol. Sorry Ren.

Anywho...good ending to the series. I do recommend reading it, even if it is a little lackluster compared to her other series.

I enjoyed this trilogy as a whole, though it reminded me a lot of the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare but with Fae and a little bit of spice thrown in. I loved the humor with Tink and how the relationship between Ivy and Ren grows. They've been through so much over the course of the three books and seeing how they get through it all was sweet.

MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW...

Spoiler Probably my favorite thing about this final book was seeing Ivy grow after how her whole life gets turned upside down in book 1 and the trauma she endured in book 2. Seeing her finally come to terms with being a halfling (half fae/half human), the changes her body undergoes because of it, and everything else that has changed in her life was inspiring. There were some surprises I definitely didn't see coming in this final book, but I was disappointed in the ending. I wanted to see a definitive win and was looking forward to seeing how that happens because it felt like impossible odds and I love a good underdog story. But instead we get the Queen escaping back into the Fae realm with the crystal that allows her to open the gates and Ivy and Ren planning to live "normally" for a few years until she comes back. I mean yeah they still "won" but I just feel like the ending could have been better than it was and was disappointed.

3.5⭐ enjoyed this as an audible listen but felt like it lacked something compared to the first two books in some way? I still loved Tink and enjoyed the twists but not sure I rated the ending.

I really enjoyed the last book although I felt it was anticlimactic at the end but everything else was good.

I kept waiting for something to happen, anything to happen, and the only thing that happened was Ivy doing something stupid again. I cannot tell you how a FMC who makes bad decisions and can't communicate pisses me off. You'd think she would have learned something after three full books. Apparently not.

Overall, I would give this series a 4 star. But the first one was the best, and I prefer a series that gets better as it goes. Not that this one got worse, but it didn’t get better either.

The story line was nice, but I felt left with so many unanswered questions. And the romance felt lacking. Which lets be honest, that’s what I was there for. The romance is what hooked me with the first book and then all of a sudden it was very action and plot based.

And if that what’s you like, this is for you. But to me, the story felt rushed and the characters and relationships lacking at the end.

I always seem to love JLA's side characters more than the main characters and Tink is no different
