I want to add this book to my collection. Enough said.

It captures life so well. Falling in love with something (as this little girl does with a duckling) and showering it with all the love in the world. But then knowing that there comes a time when you have to let go.....but maybe, just maybe, that love will return to you.

I think parents might enjoy this more than the children. But that's alright. However, the cuteness of both the little girl AND the duck just might win people over as well.

Reading it as a grownup, its like a story about a mother and her child. I really like this shirt story.

How perfect is this book?!! The little girl and the little duckling are so cute and the story is everything. I loved everything about it. The illustrations are the best. Love, love, love this book.

This is a very sweet book which can either be taking in literally, this little girl is caring for a duckling, or as a way for the child to understand what a parent does for their child, all because of love. I also loved the vintage look the illustrations gave the book.

only not giving five stars because I'm worried children will read this and then touch wild animals. but the story is very sweet, with myriad teachable moments re: the nature of unconditional love.
