The end was terribly anticlimactic, but the rest of it was quite good. The characters were pretty good. It just wasn't the exciting murder-mystery suspenseful ending

Thank you Netgalley for providing me with a copy.

A great mystery thriller that kept you guessing. You'd think you had it solved, only for another twist to be thrown in. I loved Franza and Felix, the detective partners. They were great together and I loved that they could be there for each other without romance. The murder mystery is what really made this a great book. Sometimes it got a bit confusing with characters going off in tangents. It was distracting and I'd find myself skimming over those passages. That's what kept me from rating it higher. I will read more by this author and was quite impressed with how well it translated.

interesting story line and a compelling main character who is well developed, but uneven. Fit my taste, I prefer a consistent POV or consistent switches between them. There were frequent drops into the thoughts of secondary characters that I found jarring. The victim could have used more development.

Unsatisfactory

2 Stars = I didn't like it.

This book seems full of neurotic and amoral characters. Thus, it wasn't possible for me to attach myself to any of them. The ending also wasn't satisfying.

Spoilers...
Not terrible. I felt like additional description could have been used, sometimes things were unclear to me. In the end, i didnt find the mystery all that interesting. The only gasp-worthy part was when it is revealed at the end that the mother was pregnant. Leaving that slightly vague. ;)

It was pretty good but some of the stylistic choices kept pulling me out of the story.

This book was okay. I wasn't really impressed with the quality of writing (which may have something to do with it not being originally written in English). The ending was somewhat predictable. I expected more suspense but was disappointed to find very little. To add to my disappointment, the story seems to end in a strange spot. It cuts off without giving the reader answers to some important questions. Overall I wasn't impressed. I wouldn't even recommend anyone read this book.

Enjoyable read

This was an enjoyable and quick read. The language was nice and it is a good first novel. :) I would read more of this authors work.

I needed a book that had been translated for a reading prompt so I picked this one up from my pile of Kindle First reads. It was very underwhelming and predictable and I can’t really think of any redeeming qualities.

This book definitely kept me interested in finding out what happened to Marie but wrapped up kind of anti-climatically. Strange characters.
