Something tells me that Melissa Ferguson is the Queen of Slowburn.

Hear me out, I fucking love Chip. He's a god-tier man with the wittiest of humours and the kindest of hearts. The ending kinda made me mad at first, like jaw on the floor, red faced mad, I was. But then I kinda saw it from his point of view and it was great.

Hear me out, Ferguson writes the everyday romance. Nothing that will tear out your heart and nothing that will leave you in a puddle (in a bad way, god someone remind me not to show my mother this review). But I love that she writes about the human side of it. The mundanity is what makes me love her.

Not a lot happened and there was a lack of chemistry between the main characters. There was a lot of side characters and stories that got about half the attention and didn’t do a lot plot wise. It couldn’t even commit to being Christian fiction and only alluded to God half way through.

So they hated each other then spent one evening talking and decided they were in love? WTF.

Also, she didn’t like his dog. Who falls in love with someone who adamantly hates they dog?

This took me like 2 weeks to read and I hated it. Everything was off - literally the plot on the back of the book? It just doesn't exist and you won't find it in this one

I will be honest, I did not like this book. It was a cute story, but these types of books are clearly not my style and it did not keep my attention at all. I wanted to DNF it but I powered through and finished it. I pretty much rushed through the last 50 or so pages just so I could be done with the book and move on.
