This book was so good. I was not disappointed at all. The last few chapters definitely had me in the edge of my seat. Can't wait for book 3!

Still hated the characters, but the plot was really good.

Literally everything about this was beautiful (even though it took me way longer to read than it should have) and I think Maddox and Becca have been usurped by Crys and Farrell as my main favs. I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT FARRELL HOLY MOLYYYYYYYYYY

BRING IT ONNNNN

These books are so good! I don't know why they're not getting more attention than they are, because they definitely deserve it. Fans of the Falling Kingdoms series would love this, and even those who maybe didn't like Falling Kingdoms or who haven't read them would like it too, I think, since it's very different and a lot of it takes place in our modern world. Very well done.

I don't want to say that I like the Spirits and Thieves series better than I did the Falling Kingdoms because The FK series is one of my favourites of all time. But this sequel/prequel series, it is sort of both, stands on its own. I really, really, very much enjoyed reading the two books and this book especially. There were so many plot twists and a lot of character development for some and so many emotions. I felt shocked, sad, elated and scared while reading The Darkest Magic. Such a great book and series. Unfortunately, The Cursed Heir has not been written or published even though it was supposed to be released in 2018. I'm upset about it and I'm sure Morgan Rhodes is too. I will still hold out hope that one day the final book of this trilogy will come to fruition even if it is as an E-book only.

3.5 Stars. I did not find it intriguing as the first book. The only character I really find interesting was Farrell and Maddox. I usually really enjoy it when there's different point of views in books, but I didn't really care for Crystal's or Becca's at all in this book. Perhaps this is a middle book syndrome or something, I will be reading the last installment of this series, and hopefully Morgan Rhodes then can kick it up a notch!
