If I could give 10 stars I would!!! LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this novel!!! 3 different timelines, 3 different women, all 3 are connected. There's Aurelie in 1914, WW1. There's Daisy in 1942, WW2. And then there's Babs in 1964!!! Love how the chapters were laid out, with clear heading to know which woman the chapter was about. All novels with 2 or more timelines should be modeled after this book. And the ending tied up so beautifully!!! I had a fun time trying to figure out how each woman was connected with the others!!!

This is going to be a random review.

1) at first, I almost sent it sailing RIGHT back to the library. I could hardly stand any of the characters, especially the narrators.

2) speaking of narrators, I read this on audio, and two of the three readers irritated me all the way through. Possibly would have had a better time if I had read with my eyes instead of my ears.

3) what kept me going was the inside jokes and nods to Team W's previous books -- repeat characters popping up, a reference to a law firm called Williams, Willig, and White or something like that.

4) at some point, though, I got swept up in the storylines and couldn't put it down

5) this might be a really weird readerly pet peeve, but I hate makeover plots. When a character is deemed frumpy and gets set upon by other characters changing their make up and clothes and then the book acts like that's the magic fix-all for their life? Ugh. It makes me so angry. Boundaries, people. On that note, I REALLY couldn't stand Precious Dubose almost right up till the end. Sorry y'all.

6) Max. ❤️ I needed more closure on his storyline, though.

7) are the team W novels getting progressively steamier? Or am I just getting progressively more curmudgeonly. Possibly both. There was some SERIOUSLY cringey Content in this, though, and some of it not entirely consensual. So fair warning.

8) I found the ending satisfying. Some of the plot twists were more surprising than others.

9) I really wonder about myself. Why can't I just enjoy romance novels like a normal female? Either the men are written too good and that makes me irritated at the writer, or they're written too much of a "bad boy" and I get irritated at the heroine for sticking with them. I think my favorite stories are the unrequited ones, or ones where they DON'T end up together. Why. This book was a mixed bag in that regard, though, and while I cringed through some of the middle of the storylines, I think all of the endings ultimately worked for me.

Loved the 3-veined story that intertwined for the 3 women in each time period. Also loved the ties to the Last Night in London. Was not overly predictable and the differences and growth in each woman was really enjoyable. Loved the humor with Babs too.

Lovely trip through intertwining tales and love stories. I always wonder how people can afford to live full time in a hotel though

3.5. I love when these authors collaborate but this one didn’t flow as much for me, and I didn’t think there was any real chemistry between any of the characters. Loved having the Ritz as the backdrop though.

I loved that this was compiled by 3 authors. The three storylines of our courageous leading ladies all intertwined, with enough mystery of how it would all fold together, to keep me up late to finish!

Firstly, any book by these three authors, whether a solo or group effort, is worth reading. That goes without saying, so I went into All the Ways We Said Goodbye with high hopes. I was not disappointed. The story jumps between 1914, 1942, and 1964 but has a great flow and doesn't feel disjointed at all. I think the character I liked the best was Babs- I really enjoyed her journey throughout the story and how it all came together. This was a really satisfying read- so finish reading this review and go pick up a copy!

I’ve read a few WWII historical fiction books. This one was enjoyable. I loved the strength of the women in this book.
