I thought it’d be fun to reread this, as I hadn’t since the 90s when I was a kid. It’s still a fun story, although in retrospect it’s epic but kind of thin on story, in the end. Part of the reason I think it works less well on its own is that it was born out of a Silver Surfer story and really continues on with Infinity Watch and the other miniseries. I have that context from reading a lot of that in my youth, it judged purely on its own it suffers some.

This one was fantastic! Few naggly bits that annoyed me but easily overlooked by the sheer epicness.

you know its a great event when it keeps being relevant in comics. Artwork is classic and Warlock became on of my fav because of this
You should check the Thanos Quest first for a complete experience.

While many of the elements are quite far-fetched (there is clearly no facet of the Marvel Universe that is not somehow embodied in a humanoid shell), and the confrontations with Thanos start to drag on before the Gauntlet finally changes hands, this epic event pools the best of what Marvel has to offer in terms of art, story, and entertainment, as the Universe's collective group of superheroes has to band together against insurmountable odds against the Mad Titan. Filled with some jaw-dropping moments (like the infamous snap) and gut-wrecking plot twists, The Infinity Gauntlet definitely lives up to its reputation as the definitive Cosmic Marvel Event.

It's okay, I guess, but it's nothing out of the ordinary either. My feeling is that there is a lot of filler material for the fanboys, which clog an otherwise interesting and straightforward plot.
