This was such a fun read for the holidays. I’m so glad I finished it on the week of Christmas and with snow on the ground. It was atmospheric and fun. I loved Lana and Rick as characters so much I thought they were really great together!Â

First of all, I just am a sucker for this series, ok?!? I love the light, silly, fun writing and the plot elements are ridiculously adorable. The romances make me smile and swoon. However, my darling Caitlin had some v v v astute criticisms of the first book, and I think it opened my eyes to some of the issues in this one. I did not vibe with Lana at all in the first book, and while I liked her A LOT more in this one, I felt like it was a little bit of a jarring about face for her character. Rick though? I love me some Rick. And Rick's love for Lana made me like her more. There were some problems I could not overlook though, like fatphobia and healthism, as well as framing a female ex as crazy. Do not enjoy, no ma'am. Also stop with the word slender. Do you KNOW any other adjectives???????Â
