A great coming-of-age story about first love, not fitting in, being bullied, and surviving to accept one's inner monster. The last bit when two friends meet again many years later is very interesting. Maria does not have any love for the bully who tortured her when she was young; she is even happy to hear that her bully is now dead! And she's come to the understanding that her experiences of being bullied contributed to who is is now.

Bef's homage to Shelly's monster is great. The art, colors, paneling, and inking are all fantastic and varied among the different stories. There is also a bit of Mexico City history here and there (like the infamous alternative music/zine exchange on Saturdays).

Recommended for those who like monsters, comics, math, and rock bands.
