why always a virgin - and he wasn't one but she was forced to be

I also would have appreciated if it was written in first pov instead of third

Kane pissed me off and Elise should have just screamed over him at one point

There was also a scene that felt very rapey

I saw someone compare this with Lynsay Sands etc - no, just no

I liked this story, although it was a bit predictable. Elise is the daughter of an alpha from a pack of werewolves. To make a treaty between the two packs, her dad arranges her to mate Kane, the alpha of a different pack. She’s forced to uproot her life and move with Kane to his pack, leaving her family, friends, and childhood love behind her.

She tries to adapt to her new life, but is pretty quiet and unsure of herself in this unfamiliar territory. Kane is busy being alpha and doing his duties, that he kind of puts her off. Elise tries to make friends, but not everyone takes well to her being Kane’s mate. Elise notices odd things happening and brings her suspicions to Kane. But, being set up with incriminating evidence, Kane shoots her down cruelly.

This story is definitely worth a read!

Ugh, seriously. There were a lot of times when I wanted to slam Kane's head to a wall or maybe dice him or something. I was so confused and annoyed with him. Gah.

I don't know why but The Mating was on my radar for some time now. I had it in my head it was one of those cliched bodice-rippers. And finally, when I was in a mood for something like that, I gave it a go.

Imagine my surprise when The Mating turned out to be a classic pnr novel. There is a pack of werewolves in peril. Heroine is newly mated to the alpha, but tries to make the best of the situation she got into. You see who the villain is from the start, but it takes them whole book to catch them. You know how it goes...

If you like paranormal romances written by Lynsay Sands, Kerrelyn Sparks or Sherrilyn Kenyon, give it a go.

An okay introduction

Read this book a while ago back then, it felt magical... This time around not so much.

The story and characters were very lackluster.

Elise is the daughter of a local werewolf pack who get's mated to Kane, a recent Alpha of the East pack. Elise role is to marry into the pack and unite so they'd have a larger area and a peaceful treaty. The story was likable and the sex steamy. It wasn't however an original idea, so that lowered my review. I still liked it but a new approach would have been nice.

A little too much "romance" for my taste. The story was okay but I was seriously distracted by the graphic descriptions of the romantic encounters. I won't be finishing this series....

It started interesting but eventually it was quite flat.

I had to quit this book midway through because I was shaking with rage at the stupidity of the main characters. HORRIBLE.
