Exactly what I expected. The resolution was so lame.

I think most of the other mediocre reviews said it better than I could. No one talks like normal people do (cheesy and unrealistic dialogue has become one of King's few weaknesses lately) and the book needed massive editing. As usual, things pick up towards the end but it took forever to get there. If you're going to give us an OK book, please do it in less than 500 pages.

Oh, I forgot the constant foreshadowing. Or as I prefer to call it, "artificial suspense."

Having never read a Steven King novel before, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I don't tend to be a horror fan, but I didn't find this one to be too frightening. There were certainly some gory scenes (particularly when the Dome was coming down) but nothing that really scared me.

The characters in this one were very strongly either good guys or bad guys - and the bad guys had NO redeeming qualities whatsoever!! I wasn't overly impressed with Big Jim's ending as I really hoped he would have to own up to his actions. The good guys were a great group to root for - there were a few times I was concerned for their safety! A warning however, do not get attached to any of the characters as it appears that King enjoys killing them off!

The ending/explanation for the Dome fell a bit flat to me...I'm not sure exactly what I was looking for but it wasn't that.

Overall, a good read up until the ending!!
