I read this because my son asked me to. He is a big fan of the series. I found it surprisingly complex for a kids book. The characters were endearing, and the story was engaging. I'm not surprised he likes them so much.

READ THIS SPOILER ONLY AFTER THE DARKEST HOUR!
Spoiler So sad. The book starts with the scene from when she sacrificed herself to save Firestar and her clan from the dogs, I cried all over again. Oakheart appears to her and tells her how to swim so she can live long enough to speak to her kits one last time. After being forgiven by Mistyfoot and Stonefur, she decides there is no need to cling to her last life and lets herself go to Starclan. But thats just the prologue. Then chapter one starts off with bluekit, a lovable little kit with bluish fur who has yet to open her eyes! Read all about her life. Her meeting crookedpaw, fighting crookedpaw with her sister, falling for Oakheart, giving away her Kits, and when she sees Rusty, aka Firepaw aka Fireheart aka Firestar and tells Greypaw to keep an eye on him. And we all know the rest.
I loved it, and I bet you will too.
Whats this, YOU DONT KNOW WTF IM TALKING ABOUT? Warriors is a series that follows the life of a household cat (kittypet) and his crazy life as he joins the cats living in the forest. The clan leader of Thunderclan is Bluestar, who has been given a prophecy about him, and invites him into the clan as an apprentice. One of the best animal series you will ever read.

I really loved this story. Bluestar is my favorite clan warrior I think her story is very inspiring especially the part with Oakheart because when you read the series it is not explained enough I think.

RATING: 4 stars

Should I be this invested in the romances of a literal clan of cats? Probably not but I'm like five years too late to worry about that so...

Bluestar's book always makes me sad lol StarClan really messes stuff up for everyone, don't they? Same with Yellowfang but that's a WHOLE different story and I'm not going there today lol.

I liked getting to see what it's like for cats that grow up in clans and don't come into them later on, it's nice to see what it was like when stuff was more 'normal' in the clans without as many creepy prophecies going around lol. I've read this before (I've read literally all of the Warriors books and side stories and everything before so that's nothing new) but I remember this one was memorable out of all those books, and for good reason. It's a cross between very depressing and very interesting because Bluestar in the main series is so serious and untouchable and here you start with her being a kit and a squirrel falling on top of her head lol

Also I've said before that my favorite Warriors books are the ones set in the forest, not at the lake, so obviously I loved seeing all the clans back there.

After this I think I'll either read Tallstar's book or Crookedstar's because the second one gives you more of the other side on the whole Oakheart/Bluestar thing and also I just love Crookedstar lol but honestly Bluestar's life should have been better and that's all I have to say about that. Literally every time an important person showed up- BAM they were dead.
Spoiler Moonflower didn't even make it a hundred pages smh. I'm surprised Snowfur lived long enough to have a kit.

Also we got tiny Whitestorm! I loved that lol. And tiny Tigerstar was... predictably annoying.

(Final thing: Bluefur is a terrible warrior name. Jeez. She couldn't have been like... Blue- Blue- literally ANYTHING but Bluefur is my point. Bluepelt? Bluetail? How do they choose these things? Bluefoot?)

(Literally just ignore me, it's a good thing I'm not in charge of these books lol)
