To honor this amazing book, I will make this post a Spanglish one. This books truly rePRresents, not only America Latina but the
LGBTQ+ community!

No puedo creer how beautiful this story was. La comunidad Latinx crece watching telenovelas with their grandmas. It is something that, aunque no lo quieras, you know at least, the name of unas cuantas de ellas. I grew up watching telenovelas Mejicanas with some of them including a few but very talented Puerto Rican actors and actresses. Most of the time el plot de la novela no tiene sentido absoluto and you cannot help but enjoy the extreme drama. This story envuelve a dos actores that are trying to make it in the American acting industry. She has seen many of his telenovela works and her abuela lo adora. Cuando se conocen en el production set, lo hacen de la peor manera and right after that no pueden dejar de pensar en el otro. Jazmin is intrigued by how conservative he is and Ashton (Angel Luis), admires the way she handles fame and all the drama. Ellos comienzan a hang out to practice lines and una cosa llevó a la otra y they ended up…. Well, I’m not going to spoil that. Ashton has a big secret and for the first time ever el comienza a bajar la guardia when he is with her. Their chemistry on set and in real life is amazing. Las escenas románticas te llenan el corazón de alegría y esperanza. There’s a few scenes when there is music involve and honestamente no pude evitar ponerle una pausa al libro, abrir la pagina de YouTube and find the songs to start dancing. If there is something Jazmin and I share is the love for dancing. This story is beautiful and charming and I hope all of you give it a try. It has some steamy scenes, I warned you. I cannot express my gratitude with Alexis Daria for her amazing work at including not only MY culture but also including an amazing set of characters from America Latina. It is truly beautiful. It reminded me of that song from Gente de Zona and Marc Anthony, La Gozadera!

Tropes
- latinx representation
- slowburn
- smut
- working in the film industry
- PTSD and anxiety
- single parent
- no privacy

Why aren’t we talking more about Alexis Daria’s books? Because those are exactly the type of books/stories I adore! A slowburn romcom with its fair share of steam. But not only the smut was good, but the whole plot and the characters are awesome. Each character had an amazing development towards the end after a big fight and a lot of deception. The side characters are so funny and really important for the whole story.
Even though I don’t have any latinx roots I love reading books with this representation because I really like their culture and I especially adore when there is some Spanish in it.

hurray for sex scenes centered genuinely around mutual pleasure, consent, and beautifully graphic. I applaud the author's abilities to give the characters an honest sexual drive and layered experiences.
