This is one of those stories that intrigues you, gets you all wrapped up, and puts you through the wringer. This is Sheryl's story and it is not an easy one. She suffers quite a bit but comes out strong on the other side. A very well told story. I couldn't put it down. And the ending was just perfect. If you can stomach a little bit of gore, I recommend this one.

This is the first book I have read by this author and now I need more! I really got into the book, though it ended up taking me a while to finish it as life threw me a lot of distractions. I loved how easy it was to fall back into the story every time I picked up the book, even if it had been several days since I read from it.

The characters are well developed and easy to care for. Sheryl just breaks my heart throughout the book with her reactions to everything going on around her. She is terrified at times but so strong and brave. She carries a burden from a young age, knowing that no one will believe her if she tells. It is so sad.

The events throughout the story really surprised me on occasion. Every time I thought I had it all figured out and knew what would happen, the author would throw in a twist. It was great fun to read. I would highly recommend this book to anyone that likes a good story with elements of fantasy, horror, Native American beliefs, family secrets, mystery, and so much more. This book will entertain readers of many genres.

I give this book a solid four star rating.
