An adorable YA romance with fake dating! I enjoyed the fake dating scheme and loved that they built a friendship, it was nice to see both of them be so comfortable with each other. Their friend groups and families were heartwarming. I liked how the author dealt with fatphobia and confidence, it was very relatable! Rebekah Weatherspoon’s compelling and funny writing makes for a quick read.
Jacob also has a POV but I felt that he was a little "neglected." I learned a lot about Bethany outside the relationship and could see her character development, but not enough with Jacob. His Korean identity also didn’t take a lot of page time, which is unfortunate. The confession was a bit underwhelming and I found the ending a bit abrupt. Overall, it’s a wholesome well-written and funny YA romcom but something was missing for me.

A very cute, fluffy read. I could have read it in one sitting, but the chapters were spread out because I read this as a read-along with people from bookstagram.

Obviously I am not the target audience for this one as it is young adult and I haven't been a young adult in years, but I thought this was a sweet, cute read. I love reading about a plus size teen, who does not hate her body. That part of the book is 100% what I needed when I was a teen. I loved the friendship and relationship between the MC's. Reading from the adult eye; I was annoyed at the lack of communication, but it felt pretty spot on of awkward teens. I really liked the solid friend group and the family dynamics. I would definitely recommend this to all teens, and even adults who read YA.

I’m not really a romance reader and wanted to experiment but wow, I really liked the pacing in this. Didn’t feel dragged out. I just wish the Kayden situation was better written but that’s just my opinion. I still really liked it.
