Volume two of iZombie is fun, engaging and certainly more enjoyable than the first volume. It fixes it's pacing issues and has an overall more coherent tone. Spot's backstory is so much fun and touching at the same time. However the characters are still a bit bland and cookie cutter at times and interactions between characters feel... odd when the come up. Especially between Gwen and the hunter. When they're drawn together, something just doesn't click.

The volume though is solid and continues to build the mystery that, while feeling kind of bland, I want to know more about. Overall the humor and three leads (while having faults) make me want to continue in reading.

Oh man, I loved this volume even more than the first one! Volume one did a great job introducing the characters. The story telling was more linear. This second volume, however, was all over the place and it totally worked. There as still a logic to the shifting of scenes and it flowed well. I enjoyed learning more about Gwen's companions and the flirting of a bigger plot to come. Digging this series more than I thought I would. So glad I continued!

I'm having fuuuunnn with this, it's less detective-like and more scooby doo in a sheer supernatural way.
I love Scott more than the other characters but maybe he is in a tie with Gwen. I'm exited to learn more about her past life and see more of her brother.

It's a good way to go after watching the series twice and missing your intellectual zombie girl.

I love this series. Allred's art has a great, kitschy, retro feel to it, as does Roberson's writing, and there are some inspired framing sequences and stories here. Great stuff.

4 stars. I am really enjoying this series so far. This one isn’t as good as the first one but I still liked it a lot, I just wish it didn’t feel like filler. The characters are really great and charming and the story is a lot of fun. I loved that we got Scott’s back story because he’s my favorite and the scene with him in the comic book store was the cutest thing ever and I ship it already. I like where this is going and I see what could potentially happen with Ellie’s character and I am so excited for it and I hope I’m right about it. Gwen is such a fascinating character but I’m so glad that they split the time between all of the characters and not just her because I feel like it’s all going to connect and come full circle in the end. Can’t wait to continue on and see where it goes next.

Definitely not like the tv show at all! And I'm kind of glad too! I'm enjoying the adventures of Gwen the Zombie, Ellie the ghost from the 1960s, and Scott the Were-Terrier. And I'm liking where the story is taking us too. We have some new characters introduced in this volume, some from the past, some from the not so distant past, and some in the present. And we even get a monkey possession thrown in there too! I really wasn't expecting that one! lol But I am looking forward to the next volume. I have a feeling Gwen might be in a bind with her new boyfriend and his business partner. It's really hard not to go into too much detail with this so I don't spoil the plot, but this is the best I have at the moment. Here's hoping volume 3 is just as good.
