Love, love, love your wordplay. Cracks me up and I can visualize their reactions to each other, pulling me in as though I'm standing right beside them.

Once again a solidly written story. The character progression is great. The consistent theme of a warrior on his chosen path and being forcibly put on another is interesting. Brian continues to surprise me. Raphael on the other hand, I am beginning not to like him. I can't put my finger on it yet. I have a habit of loving the self-aware assholes, but in his case, he is like a glass of bad wine someone has offered. You drink it to be polite and pray that it will spill.
This is part of serial; I highly recommend not starting here. There is just enough background that you could start at this episode, but don't. I look forward to the next one.
