I’ve been rereading a lot of books that I loved from my childhood/teenage years this year, and of course The Twilight Saga had to be included in that.

I’ll be honest, this series isn’t great. The writing isn’t the best, the characters have a tendency to be annoying, but there’s just something about it that is so entertaining, I can’t even begin to explain.

One thing I have to say is this is definitely my favourite of the books. It’s probably not a four star read, but to be honest, I didn’t want to put it down. The nostalgia was hitting me hard and I actually found myself really enjoying it…

Is this book worthy of four stars? Absolutely not. Do I care that I gave it four stars anyway? No, not really! 😂

RAHHHHH I FINISHED THE TWILIGHT SAGA
what a beautiful ending. kind of.
i need to say this book felt like 700 pages of fanfiction. now im not mad at that but..... sometimes it felt corny. like with the
pregnancy & the fact bella lowkey becomes a mary sue....
ok well shes not really a mary sue but. i hate the fact her adjustment period as a newborn was nonexistent!

anyways i loved 80% of this book. some parts felt corny, and i was mega pissed that there were 10 jacob chapters. tbh they weren't as bad ass i thought they were going to be, but when i saw "book two - jacob" ooooo my blood BOILED. anyways though the ending made me less annoyed at him but im sorry
imprinting on a fucking infant is so crazy what crack were u smoking meyer

also this book needed more alice im sorry. yeah i know her not being there is for a reason idc im a ride or die for my girl alice talk to the wall.
anyways this feels oddly poetic to finish on valentines day seeing as the cullen coven are all lovesick LOSERS!!! /lh
i enjoyed seeing
bella as a vampire
but some of this book did feel like pandering, and it broke my immersion at times. other than that though, this book was perfect. the ending with the
volturi
was a bit corny tho.... like yeah sure i
wanted a happy ending and would've been mad if it didn't happen but tbh i would've preferred that! it felt incredibly anti-climatic that alice somehow manages to find this random ass fuckin half immortal. girl bye

also my one other gripe was there was waaaay too much casual racism with the
other covens
. was painful to read points featuring certain people like
amun or the amazon vampires
..... meyer u needed some sensitivity readers on god
idk if im gonna read the other books related to twilight by meyer this year but im happy ive finished her main series! yay!
i say this but in reality my hyperfixation is gonna go crazy now that i don't have any new content (yes i will be bingeing both movies tonight IF YOU SEE MY LETTERBOXD MIND UR OWN BUSINESS /lh)
ok bye <3

-I loved this book in the serious i never read the books before this was my first time but I've watched the movie just about a thousand + times and that ending i was not expecting instead of leaving something out of the movie like they normally did they added a crazy ending to the movie that wasn't in the book overall i loved it thought it was such a good story i wish they did a epilogue in this book but they didn’t 🥹 I don’t wanna say to much that might spoil the book so I'm just gonna keep it at that eEdward and Bella and even Jacob have allot of growth in this book more than the other ones overall i rate this book a five star⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️-

I read this in two days just in my attempt to finally be free from the fresh hell that is my idea of re-reading this series.

This is somehow the best, and the worst book of all of them-- by not by a lot.

Spoilers Ahead
It's obviously S. Meyer's weird anti-abortion manifesto, Bella makes it painfully clear when she, 18 and pregnant, will not give up the baby that is literally a parasite growing rapidly and actively killing her while she drinks blood out of a 7-11 cup as prescribed by a board-certified(?) doctor.

This triggered constant eye-rolling every time she was described as weak but in the same breath, readers were made aware of how badly she wanted to keep Jakeward or whatever the male baby name idea was. Speaking of Jacob, his entire 'book' portion was so whiny and annoying and absolutely a displeasure to read.

The only mildly entertaining part of this book was the shady lawyer or whatever who was absolutely terrified of Mr. Jasper (can you blame him)? The Volturi scene was so long and drawn out for literally no reason.

Midnight Sun is still on my radar, but not for a very, very long time.
